Celebrating success of GCSE results in our second year

At Ark Boulton Academy we are celebrating excellent achievements in our second year of GCSE results, despite new specifications and the first year of a new grading system, students performed very well with 50% achieving pass grades in both English and Mathematics.  As a result the academy’s Progress 8 figure is likely to be 0.4. This is a significant improvement on the previous year’s results and will mean that Ark Boulton is anticipated to be in the top 25% of schools nationally for student progress.

Top grades of A* and grade 8 and grade 9 were awarded to students across a range of subjects including: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, the Sciences, History, Geography, Modern Foreign Languages and Art.

Jamil Ahmed achieved the highest level in a number of subjects including a grade 9 in Mathematics. Rightly proud of his achievement (only the top 3% of students nationally achieve this level of outcome) he hopes to go on to study Biology, Mathematics and English Literature at college. “I want to thank all the staff who worked so hard to help me achieve my grades. After college I hope to apply for one of the Russell Group Universities.”

Aisha Khanom has secured a place at Solihull Sixth Form and hopes to study A Levels in Science. She achieved a suite of top grades across all her GCSE subjects. Amazing results!

Jawaad Khan knows his first rate results will allow him to pursue his passion of astronomy at university, and plans to take A Level Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics to make this happen.

Riluwanudeen Mohamed's excellent outcomes will allow him to go on to college where he intends to take A level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. He wants to go on to study Pharmacy at university. “I want to particularly thank my maths teachers who helped and encouraged me to get this Grade 8 in Maths. I could not have achieved it without them!”

Herminder Channa, Principal at Ark Boulton Academy said: “All the hard work that the students and the teachers have put in has really reflected in our results this year. The above students are just a snapshot of the incredible achievements at Ark Boulton Academy.

Our students have worked hard through their continuous commitment and dedication to learning. They showed a level of resilience that is really to be credited. A huge well done to them all.

I would like to thank all our staff and our parents for their ongoing support, as without team effort, none of this would possible.”

We wish our students all the very best for the future.
