Recently, selected students attended a 'FRIENDS Programme' - about enhancing their communication, interaction skills and resilience, a programme recognised by the World Health Organisation
The programme teaches the students how to cope with all types of challenges they may face in life and how to:
- Efficiently manage their feelings and understand the feelings of others.
- How to think more positively and how to relax and reward themselves when they have done well.
- How to build their support network and how to be kind to themselves and others.
The programme teaches skills for life and sits in well with our Virtues Curriculum, helping students reach their full potential academically in school and beyond with their social skills.
"Over the ten week programme the students have developed many skills, learnt problem-solving and relaxation techniques. They are now more equipped than before on what they would like to achieve and have been using the step by step goal plan do to so. The students have been very courageous and have shown great commitment by getting involved with the programme.They have worked hard as a team and have become stronger and more confident in themselves. They all have come a long way and I am very proud of them." Mrs Edwards, School Counsellor.
