'The Tailormade' Exclusive Workshop

On Wednesday 10th May, our Year 9 students were lucky enough to have a one to one session with Radio One's house band 'The Tailormade'. The Tailormade have supported artists such as the Vamps, James Arthur, and Olly Murs and will be supporting Little Mix in the summer.

The session gave an introduction to song writing, where students took part in three workshops focusing on lyric writing, hooks, melody and structure. It was great to receive such priceless advice from people in the industry who are using the knowledge we learn in lessons on a daily basis.

“The band had a really clever way in which they composed their lyrics and gave us writing ideas too.” Juwariah Bibi, Year 9 Honesty.

Some students were even lucky enough to see the band perform live in the sunshine afterwards. “It was so cool, the band was really good at performing. They have inspired me to keep song writing and use them in music lessons.” Aliyah Begum, Year 9 Courage.

“It was excellent! The Tailormade motivated us, and said not to be shy and nervous about the songs you wish to compose. If you believe in yourself, others will believe in you too.” Bilal Ali, Year 9 Justice.

A great day was had by all! “We are really grateful that the Tailormade came to our academy. They were awesome! Thank you!” Naveed Hussain, Year 9 Humility.
