Principal visits Ark Lagput Nagar, India

During the Easter holidays our Principal, Mrs Channa, visited Ark's first school in India - Ark Lagput Nagar.

While she was there she met with Kruti (India Country Director) and Urmila (Executive Principal) and had the opportunity to support with the English lessons in the classroom, observe teaching and give feedback.

Mrs Channa said, "I was completely taken back by the 'thirst for knowledge' displayed by the children - they just wanted to learn, despite all the challenges they faced. Their level of resilience and positivity was simply overwhelming.  The whole experience was truly humbling and I felt privileged to be able spend time with such motivated young people.  An education for these young people will not only change their lives, but will change the landscape of Lagput Nagar."

Ark Lagput Nagar, in New Delhi, is the first school that Ark has set up and operated outside the UK. We’re working with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation to create a network of fee-free, high quality primary schools. Our aim is to open 20 high-performing schools in India by 2020.
