Student Blog #1 - Supporting Children in Need!
Welcome to our Student Blog, posted by our very first blog team. We hope to use this platform to raise awareness and inform our community of just some of the activities we as students, take part in at Ark Boulton. A blog post made and run by students.
The first topic is based around the idea of ‘Charity’ which is one of our school virtues and to us it means “A giving heart, a generous way of viewing others and caring for their needs”. We will be sharing our fundraising journey on here with regular updates, and giving you an insight into what we as students are doing to manage this project and fundraise. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook too!
We aim to raise money for those around us who are less fortunate and don’t have the same opportunities that we have. The charity we have selected this year is ‘Children in Need’. An organisation based around helping children that are disadvantaged and less privileged than others in the UK and around the world. Thanks to all the money raised so far, Children in Need has been able to help more than 450,000 children in the UK alone, and so many lives of disadvantaged children are getting better. Click here for more information on the type of work being carried out by Children in Need.
However, there are many children who still need our help and students at Ark Boulton take pride in working alongside charities to make a difference to communities. Last academic year we managed to raise a staggering £1,105 for Sport Relief – the highest milestone we have ever reached. This time, we plan to raise more and go bigger and better to make a huge difference!
We will be holding many events to contribute to this cause and would love for YOU to get involved! Keep an eye out for our next post where we will be sharing how you can help us raise funds towards a good cause. We have fun and games, tasty treats, and mind boggling activities in store for students, staff, parents and the Ark Boulton community as a whole!
