Year 9 GCSE Options Choices

Year 9 GCSE Options Choices

This is a hugely important time for students in Class of 2021. Students begin their transition to Key Stage 4 and GCSE study at this juncture. It will not be long at all before Year 9 students are taking their final GCSE examinations and preparing to take the next step on their individual journey, be that going onto university, an apprenticeship or a career of their choice. In doing so we know that our Year 9 students gain that passport of education that enables them to become role models for their siblings, look after their parents and upskill our community.

We believe that students will have ample guidance and support when making the choices of which subjects they will study for GCSE.  We will support students by:

  • Providing ongoing feedback on performance in each subject.
  • Subject taster assemblies and Q/A sessions with subject leaders.
  • GCSE Options choice booklets with guidance on further study, apprenticeships and career options.
  • Individual guidance meetings with staff as part of our 'Options Drop-In Surgery.'

Once students have decided on the options choices they want to make and have discussed these with parents/carers, they can submit their options choices by clicking here.
