D Day Anniversary

Friday 07 June 2019

Marking the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.

On this day in 1944 the implementation of DDay landings operations began. This was the pivotal point in World War 2; and long accepted as the way in which the Allies won the war against the Nazis.

Many months of planning, strategic research, espionage and even meteorological research went into this operation and it took weeks of dedication and for this occupation to create a strong foothold. On this day we commemorate the sheer strength, intelligence and bravery of all of those involved in making a success of this occupation; resulting in the freedom that we enjoy in Europe now.
