Food Bank Donations for the Winter
Wednesday 19 December 2018
"Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference."
This Christmas, Ark Boulton Academy are working with the Birmingham City Mission Group and the Sparkhill Food Bank to help the homeless in Birmingham over the winter months. The charities are committed to helping the needy and marginalised of our city, offering friendship and support to the homeless, elderly, young and those struggling with poverty.
Winter can be a lonely and stressful time for many in the city, with no source for regular food, warm clothing or shelter. To help, students and staff have donated items of food in donation boxes. The charities will then use these to donate to the homeless and needy in Birmingham. Each box has been wrapped, decorated and personalised with a note for each recipient.
Here at Ark Boulton we highly value our virtues of charity, service and gratitude, and this is an apt way to support and give back to our local community.
A representative from the Sparkhill Food Bank joined us this afternoon to help load the Ark Boulton mini bus (which was full to the brim!) and take the donations to the charity centres.
