School Games Secondary School of the Year!

Wednesday 29 June 2016

We're delighted to have been awarded with Secondary School of the Year for the Schools Games Central Schools Partnership!  We were given the award for all of our commitment to PE and school sport.

Two Ark Boulton students, Amirul and Jamil, were also nominated for Sport Leader of the Year and were highly commended for their leadership.  Miss Huckstep was nominated for Head of PE of the Year.

During this year we have had a lot of success in the Schools Games.  In particular our boys team who won the badminton final against Yardleys School, and our Year 8 and 9 girls football team won their final in which they beat Washwood Heath Academy 2-1, with both teams qualifying to play in the Birmingham Winter Games in February.

The tournament Schools Games are organised by the Schools Games Central Partnership.  There are 65 schools involved in the partnership which is based at Small Heath School in Birmingham.  The School Games is a national initiative to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.
