The 9th Ark Music Gala

On Friday 30th June, nine students from Ark Boulton took part in the 9th Annual Ark Schools Music Gala. The gala was held on the Barbican Stage in Central London, a world famous performance venue. The theme for this year's gala was music inspired by 'Mother Earth'. Having spent every Thursday after school for the past few months learning challenging choir repertoire and travelling back and forth to London for rehearsals, Ark Boulton students performed alongside twenty eight other Ark Academies, performing hits such as 'Wonderful World', 'Make our garden grow', 'Senzenia' and a Michael Jackson medley 'Can MJ save the planet?' in a massed choir of 600 students!

The event was spectacular and our students are already buzzing about going back to London next year to be a part of the 10th Ark Schools Music Gala.

I would like to say a massive well done to all of the students who participated and in particular our students at Ark Boulton whom we as an Academy are incredibly proud of.

Congratulations to Ramla Omar Abdullahi, Alisha Ahmed, Ayesha Ahmed, Iqra Bashir, Samera Begum, Sabaa Halimah, Farzana Hossain, Madeeah Kauser and Aminah Uddin.

If you would like to be a part of the next gala, Ark Boulton choir rehearses every Thursday after school in DF12 with Miss Al-Hanoush. See you there!
