Free School Meals Updates

From Monday 20th April, we will be changing the daily value for vouchers covering FSM for your children to £3.00 per day, following the latest Government guidelines. We will be issuing new vouchers from Monday 20th April, using the National Scheme via email or text message.

Please note: We are currently working with the Government to ensure that every child who is eligible for free school meals will receive a voucher for them. As this is a new system there may be a few delays so please bear with us. If you have any issues please email info@arkboulton.org

Please review government guidance for further information.

We will never ask parents for their bank details and all FSM funding will be distributed via Asda vouchers which we have already shared with parents.

Extension of FSM eligibility

The Government has announced the extension of FSM eligibility to those groups with no recourse to public funds (NRPF). These groups are:

·                     children of Zambrano carers

·                     children of families with no recourse to public funds with a right to remain in the UK on grounds of private and family life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights

·                     children of families receiving support under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989 who are also subject to a no recourse to public funds restriction.

These groups are also subject to a maximum household earnings threshold of £7,400 per annum. The DfE are temporarily extending eligibility to children of a subset of failed asylum seekers supported under Section 4 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. This group is not subject to a maximum household earnings threshold.

The guidance provides a template application form for parents to use to confirm if they might be eligible and therefore entitled to FSM during this period.

If you feel you may be eligible, please check your eligibility and return the application along with any supporting documentation.
