Welcome Year 6

Our vision for your child

Our motto is 'it takes a whole community to raise a child', and at this unprecedented time this is even more important as we see parents and teachers finding new ways to work together.

Together this cooperation and respect for one another helps us work towards our vision:

"As a learning community we aim to grow together in understanding and cooperation, respecting each other's needs, beliefs and backgrounds, working even more closely to fulfil individual potential for the greater good. Together with families and the local community, Ark Boulton Academy is dedicated to helping our young people to develop a lifelong love of learning, a sense of personal and civic pride and the confidence to not just navigate the modern world, but to shape it."

In these challenging times, our transition arrangements will look different and you can find more information on this in this letter from the Lower School Team, and in your Induction Pack

Virtual Induction Week

The virtual induction week starts on the 6th July and is an opportunity for students to prepare themselves for secondary school in September. It will consist of:

  • An Induction Video - "Welcome to Ark Boulton Academy"
  • Meet the form tutor - Introductory phone call home
  • Additional Induction pack - A reading book and "Summer Work Booklet" containing creative and challenging tasks set by all subjects (arriving in the post).

Additional Support

As this transition period is taking place during an unpresedented time, we have collated a host of resources to support you and your children. They include many activity ideas to keep your children engaged over the holidays, and resources for homeschooling including English and Maths links that are suitable for Primary and Secondary students

Feeder Primary Schools

At Ark Boulton, we are extremely fortunate to be a strong part of the local community.

Each September we recieve children from many wonderful local primary schools. We appreciate that for the majority of our year 7 intake, we are the parents' first choice of school for their child. It reminds us of the important role we play within the community.
