Principal's Note
A highlight of last week was seeing our pupils’ artwork on display at the IKON Gallery as part of the ‘Future Heritage’ exhibit. Thanks to Niki and Jo, our visiting artists, and our wonderful Art team for supporting our pupils to use their creativity to explore the world around them through a fresh lens.
You can read more about the exhibition here: Future Heritage:Ikon & Ark Schools
Our Year 7 pupils also broadened their horizons this week, completing their Community Walks. This entailed visiting key landmarks in the local area, including places of worship, the community centre and leisure facilities. Pupils and staff enjoyed the experience, despite the rain!
Both events served as a reminder of our shared commitment to help our pupils to flourish both within and beyond the Boulton gates.
Mr Cole, Principal
Year 11 Mock GCSEs and October Half-Term GCSE Sessions
Year 11 pupils will be sitting Mock GCSE exams from Monday 19th October to Friday 6th November. Pupils should attend school every day, in appropriate uniform. Period 7 sessions have been paused until Monday 16th November.
Pupils have now received their October Half-Term timetables.
Please contact our Year 11 team through the Enquiry Form if you have any questions.
Community Clinic
The focus of Monday’s Community Clinic is Mental Health and Avoiding Exam Stress. All parents and carers are welcome to attend. The Clinic begins at 9.30am on Monday 19th November. Please sign in at Reception if you can join us.
Lost Property Reclaim - Coats
Coats that are currently in our lost property storage will be displayed for families to reclaim under the canopies outside Main Reception on Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October.
PE Update
From Monday 19th October to Friday 6th November, PE lessons for Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 pupils will be held offsite at parkland on the Golden Hillock Road. Please make sure that on PE days your child wears trainers that they don't mind getting dirty, brings a suitable winter coat and wears an extra layer under their PE top to keep them warm.
Year 10 pupils who have PE lessons at the end of the day will be dismissed from this location, unless they are returning to school for Period 7.
'Be True to You' Day
Friday 23rd October is a non-uniform day for all pupils and we will be fundraising for Beyond the Horizon, a local charity, on this date. Pupils are encouraged to wear something that they love in exchange for a donation to the charity – bright colours, a favourite outfit, or something that reflects their personality. Please ensure that clothing worn is appropriate for a learning environment.
We suggest a £1 donation per pupil, which can be paid through iPay or in cash which will be collected during Form Time on the day.
Pupils will be dismissed slightly earlier on this day, at 12.45pm.
