Hear from our teachers
"Six years ago I joined Ark Boulton Academy as I was impressed with the high level of commitment from its teachers to both staff and students. I enjoyed the routine and structure to the day along with the enthusiasm of all students to engage in drama, to be the best version of themselves. I am incredibly happy to be working for a school which is willing to support myself and its students to push all of us to the improve our own knowledge and practices."
- Connor Wood, Head of Drama
"I joined Ark Boulton six years ago as a teacher of English. Having worked in a lot of very different schools before Ark, I was impressed with the strong routines that were in place to support students in their learning and behaviour. I can honestly say that Ark Boulton is also the school that has given me the most professional development training as staff are trained on a weekly basis to help them continue to grow and flourish. As a result of this, my own teaching has been refined so that I now feel I am a better teacher each year. I have also been given opportunities for personal career development, working first as the teacher in charge of resourcing the school's reading programme and then as Key Stage 3 curriculum lead within a very supportive department. I am grateful to Ark Boulton for giving me the opportunity to become the best version of myself."
- Jane Andrews, KS3 Curriculum Lead of English
"I joined Ark Boulton in September 2022 and have enjoyed the sense of camaraderie among the staff. Collaborative initiatives such as co-planning has enabled us to strengthen our bonds and deliver a comprehensive and engaging curriculum.
Alongside this, the school's commitment to Professional Development has helped me to progress to middle leadership in the short term of my career. The support of my coaches, line managers and senior leaders has been indispensable to my success here at Ark Boulton.
Staff wellbeing is something which is super close to my heart. At Ark Boulton, I have started a wellbeing committee to enhance overall health, happiness and satisfaction of all staff. Offering a holistic approach to staff's development is something which I am really proud of and is something which I hope you would enjoy too!"
- Umaymah Iqbal, Head of Religious Studies
“Every school day we have the ability to prepare our students for the big wide world. Every day brings a different challenge which we take pride in accepting and completing. To me the best day is Exams Results day when our students open their envelopes, and a big smile appears on their face when they see their pass results. At this point we know that we as a collective team have done well."
- Steven Blaber, Exams Lead
